Spatial Trends in Coastal Socioeconomics

The Spatial Trends in Coastal Socioeconomics (STICS) currently offers:

  • Demographics from the U.S. Census Bureau
  • Personal income and employment from the Bureau of Economic Analysis
  • Demographic projections developed by Woods and Poole Economics, Inc.
  • Marine recreation from the National Survey on Recreation in the Environment

STICS recompiles this information in a variety of coastal management jurisdictions:

  • Placed-based management programs—for example, USEPA National Estuary Program
  • Floodplains—for example, FEMA 100-year flood hazard areas
  • Watersheds—for example, NOAA estuaries and USGS hydrologic units
  • Political areas—for example, counties and states

See more detail in the About section.
